An essential photography course to get started in the world of wildlife photography. Photograph animals in controlled conditions.
Do you want your photos to stand out? Participate in the photography course and become a nature photography specialist!
You will try different camera settings with all the calm and without fearing that the animals would leave. For more you will learn to anticipate their movements and understand their habits.

Photography Course Time Schedule
- Timetable: 10:00h – 16:00h
- The course lasts 5 hours and there is 1 hour for lunch. The price of lunch is not included in the price of the course. We recommend that you bring your own lunch home.

Photography Course Planning

Presentation of the participants and the teacher.
Breakfast. Participants must bring their own food. At the Zoo of the Pyrenees there is only a small bar serving coffee, fresh drinks, potato chips and ice cream.
Explanation of the basics about:
- Photos of moving animals.
- Camera settings for wildlife photographing.
- Other camera functions and accessories.

It gives a great opportunity to:
- Take pictures of animals in movement.
- Observe how they move.
- Learn about the animals of Spain.
The show with animals at the Zoo of the Pyrenees provides a perfect opportunity to take pictures of moving animals. Both mammals and birds are involved.

A moment to review and comment on the photos taken during the show. Preparation for the static photography session.

You can take photos of up to 3 native animals of your choice. During this part of the course you will practice with:
- Contrasts, backlights, close-ups, details…
- Focus of the photography.
- How the composition enhances your photography.
Owls:
- Scops owl
- Barn owl
- Long-eared owl
- Eagle owl
Daytime birds of prey:
- Kestrel
- Black-winged kite
- Golden eagle
Mammals:
- Roe deer

Each participant must bring his/her own lunch. The Zoo of the Pyrenees does not have a restaurant. However, you can buy coffee, soft drinks, chips and ice cream at the park bar.
From the picnic area you will have views of the Roca de Canalda mountain. It is the natural habitat of the peregrine falcon, the griffon vulture, the red-billed chough, the egyptian vulture, the golden eagle and the bearded vulture. The south-facing views cover a third of whole Catalonia.

You will take a tour arround the Zoo of the Pyrenees and get to know all the animals that inhabit this wildlife refuge.
The following topics will be covered:
- How to photograph animals with a net in front.
- Landscape photography
- Silhouettes in the sky: Authentic wildlife photography.

Although the course ends at 16:00, participants can stay at the Zoo of the Pyrenees until the park closes its doors to the public, at 18:00 or 19:00 depending on the time of year.
Depending on the season you can participate in:
- Petting zoo with domestic animals
- Birds of Prey Show (summer time only) – this time without looking through the camera lens
- Guided tour – this time without looking through the lens of the camera
